Short Version:Great book, very creative and well tested recipes. Nutrition info accompanies each recipe. Good variety of recipes as well. Dates, maple syrup, and honey make many appearances.Long Version:I've been following this blog since it started and was SO excited when they announced they were publishing a cookbook. The authors do a great job of testing recipes, getting ultra creative with how to make things taste and look amazing. One thing about sugar free (and low fat) cooking is that the texture is usually very different. A good example of how they got (mostly) over this compared to other books and recipes is the Lemon Love Note - their version of lemon bars. You can hardly tell a difference with the short bread base, and the lemon filling is the best sugar free one I've tried. The range of recipes is also impressive. Many dishes which traditionally call for sugar have been revamped with alternative, natural sweeteners. Recipes are easy to follow and serve as a great guide for going sugar free. It makes healthy food less boring, and gives a fun twist on old classics. The beginning goes over various types of natural sugar substitutes, and tips are placed along the way to help with common questions about sugar free cooking. Most recipes have a tip or note with them which is really nice - especially if one is just getting into sugar-free cooking. They also share their journey about going sugar-free, which is nice.Pages aren't as sturdy as one typically expects in a cookbook and pictures don't accompany every recipe - but that's what their blog is for. While one would need to go a little out of the way to buy some of the ingredients for recipes in this book, it's worth it if one is trying to make a lifestyle change.
