This lick mat does it a job to help my boys slow down their eating. But it may just be my cats, but some of their wet food gets stuck and they can't get to it, making them leave it.Kitty eats slower, injests less air. It is also a kind of soothing thing for him. Very easy to clean if you clean it immediately after use. Can help slim down a fat cat because he is not just gulping it down.Made my cat not throw up any more because he couldn’t eat the food quickly. He’s a rescue who never got over his food insecurity until this product. Surprisingly, making dinner time also be enrichment made him happier and less wet-food obsessed.I put in soft food and she licks it right out.Our cat eats it's wet food so quick that he bars, this makes him slow down. We tried smaller squares amd circles but he wasted food in that one, the larger squares he wastes less.I got one of each LikiMat since I have 3 cats. I tried it out for a month. I'm using them as trivets now which is fine with me. I know some reviewers found them difficult to clean, the extent of my difficulty is that I either soaked it first or ran the water harder than I normally would. It didn't matter which mat it was, my cats just ate what was right on the surface and never bothered with what was in the nooks and crannies. Going back to their usual shallow glass bowls.Our cat loves this mat and purrs the whole time she is eating. It has slowed her down and made meal time more enjoyable.It DOES help slow down the eating so he doesn't puke it up right away. I think he's thrown up once since I bought this and I've had it since april. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that food is wasted. I show him that there's more food but he just looks at me like I'm not working that hard to eat. I didn't expect the lines to be as high as they are and food gets stuck in the corners of the mat. A different design would possibly be better?I have 4 adult cats and often a handful of kittens, the 2 female cats are super greedy, expecially the oldest, every slight movement and she's at the food bowl waiting giving you those *il eat you* eyes.. I'd seen loads of people using lick mats on tiktok and thought... why not give it ago!I mean, it looks gross! But the cats go crazy for it.I've used baby food, pate and posh cat food and a Tiny bit of cheese and my cats are loving it! I will be investing in vitamin purees etc.. for my babies!My only dislike.. there VERY small grooves and my cats refuse to try get the remains of there treat which makes its a little difficult to clean, best solution is leaving it upside down in a sink of water over night and using an old toothbrush to remove residueAll in all would buy againGreat product.Our German Shepherd puppy enjoys his yogurt on here, but had to buy a dedicated washing up brush to get in the nooks and corners.I bought this for my dog to slow down her eating! She loves it, it keeps her entertained for 30 minutes as opposed to 30 seconds eating the same amount of food from a regular bowl!She hates ‘slow feeder’ bowls as she has a short snout but she loves all of her Lickimats! She never tried to flip or chew and is content to just lick the food off.The mat is easily hand washed, don’t put it in the dishwasher or it won’t lay flat ever again!I hoped my cat might take to using these mats, but she doesn't like this one at all. It's also quite difficult to properly clean this mat - I can get it looking clean, but a cat foody aroma still comes from the mat after I've washed and dried it.Cats liked this mat and were able to lick the Licky Lix yogurt easily. Particularly useful and distracting if you need to groom a cat or administer flea treatment etc .
